HDPE is high density polyethylene, a type of plastic that has superior wear resistance as one of its' characteristics. The good news is that it is very, very slippery. So slippery that it is all but impossible to glue to so it might be a good idea to provide some small holes or other mechanical shapes for the epoxy to key into.
