Matt, automotive clear coat has tons of uv inhibitors. The only drawback is cost, it'll cost well in excess of $100 for clear, reducer and hardener. The guy at Toquenatch creek cedar kayaks uses Sikkens clear for his. The rule of you get what you pay for holds true for automotive paints. If you want it to last you better get the good stuff. The upside is, you can have that puppy finished in a matter of hours without the dreaded between coat sanding. Keep us posted!-Joey
