Kayak and GPS

Hi all,

Just looking for feedback on using GPSs with kayaks... Are there any brands/models you would recommend? How do you use your GPS? Do you map out kayak journeys with the GPS? Can you easily download the journey info from the GPS into your computer via a USB port?

The wife and I are looking at the simple Garmin waterproof eTrex (though I doubt that the flat, pond waters that carry her Mill Creek 13 are going to prove a dunking threat!)

We're basically looking for a rugged simple unit that she can use to note wildlife locations...
