deck destroyed

Posted by Kathrine on Sep 19, 2006

I can hardly bear to even type this message. Yesterday I propped my Ch17 up in the corner of my deck where the house meets the garage to do the end pour. I did it late last night and it got down to 40degrees last night, so I left it propped up all day today to harden up. Everything was looking fine when I came home for lunch, but when I got home from work tonight, the entire boat had fallen over and there are three large holes punched in it....two on the deck and one small one in the hull right near the cockpit. I am sick. Any suggestions on where to start repairing? I will post photos if I can borrow a digital camera. I am a complete novice when it comes to woodworking. I've been working on this kayak for 2 summers and I was just about ready to start varnishing (I was doing the end pours last, after all the other epoxy work was done) Quite frankly, I don't know if I have the mental strength to even go through this. Anyone want a fixer-upper?
