won't protect the epoxy from UV damage. Even adding the aluminum powder to epoxy will only slow it down- eventually you will see deterioration of the epoxy.

PLus- to get a good color level you will need multiple coats of epoxy. I did the interior of an ice chest aboard our sailboat- took at least five coats to get a good density of the white. You can only add so much pigment and the results will be sorta translucent, not at all like paint.

It IS however an excellent way to undercoat. Epoxy with a pigment won't show as a dark spot under the paint when you get a scrape on the boat.
