James, If you have not already seen it, the CLC wisdom on sizing can be found on the "Choosing a Kayak" page (see link), and the table that it links to. If you're thinking about a non-CLC design, compare it's length, width and depth to the CLC ones to see if it's close to your size, and try it out if you can. If you like a boat that almost fits, like the Shearwater 17, ask CLC about customizing it.
