I was wondering how popular those webbing supports are, compared to chocks of foam or padded wood. I don't like the boat to wobble around while I'm working on it. The straps do have the advantage of adapting to any angle of roll, though. I'm going to be building some new supports for my next project (got some nice 2x4s out of a dumpster), so am dithering over which way to go on this.
