If you want to understand what the business case looks like for kayaks you should be talking to those in the industry. This forum is primarily for builders of CLC plywood epoxy kits. Which is a much, much smaller market with different needs than mass manufacturers of a recreational commodity called "kayaks".

From a retail and customers standpoint of production kayaks these improved methods of development can be rendered moot if the ethos of cutting labor costs is applied across the board without understanding the product or the customers/dealers experience.
