When I built my MC13 I used several inexpensive tie down straps with ratchets to gradually bend down the deck after having it attached first to the carlins with c-clamps. I think the straps do a better job of distributing bending force over a somewhat larger plywood area than rope would. Of course, if you already have cured epoxy on the underside of your deck, you are going to be dealing with a need for more force. In those circumstances you might need to temporarily reinforce the edges of the deck plyood where the straps lap over to prevent splitting. I haven't faced that situation.
