Re: Weights: Fact or Fict

I'd love to know what my nearly finished Passagemaker dinghy actually weighs, if only to satisfy my curiosity. But the size of the boat makes it difficult to plunk down on a bathroom scale. The literature claims a Passagemaker should come in at 90-100 lbs. But with so many areas for modification, variability in fillet size, coats of epoxy and finish, etc., I wouldn't be surprised to find that Passagemakers vary significantly in weight. All I know is my wife and I can easily pick up our Passagemaker and move it around. That is light enough for me.

But it is an interesting question. I wonder how many boat builders out there have accurately weighed their boat?
