My Boat's too long!

Man, if it isn't one thing, it's another!

I am now trial fitting the deck on the CH 17LT. The bow section fits nicely, but apparently I made a mistake 3 years ago when I put the hull together. My hull extends about 3 or 4 inches to the stern past the shearclamps. Probably not a problem in and of itself, given there will be an end pour to make it strong.

The problem is the aft deck section only covers the entire stern if the cockpit cutout is to the aft of the bulkhead. If i put the cockpit cutout to the front of the bulkhead I get a 3 or 4 inch section of the stern that isn't covered by the deck.

One possible solution would be to Cut a small triangle of deck section from the spare pieces that come off the front deck section when that is attached and either scarf it on, or just glue it on at the stern.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?
