Re: Bubbles in varnish

Gentle stirring in the can is best as mentioned.

I just wet sanded and re-varnished my CH16 hull yesterday to cover last season's dings and scratches. Using John's suggested method, you apply vertical strokes over an area of 18 to 20 inches, and then without adding more varnish to your foam brush, apply horizontal strokes from dry through the wet. This accomplishes two things - smoothing / leveling the varnish, and assuring 100% coverage.

No bubbles, and only one bug.
