Options for hull paint
Posted by Jim L on Jun 22, 2006
I am about to begin finishing a CH16. I plan to paint the hull and varnish the deck. My wife would like orange, but options are limited. Jamestown offers an orange in their new Kirby line, but it is an enamel. (I used Interlux Brightside on my first boat, a CH17, which is a one-part polyurethane.) How much durability would I lose with the enamel? Another option is the Epifanes two-part polyurethane, but I'm concerned that it may be much harder to use. Any truth to that? Does it have to be sprayed on? (I have no spray capability, or skill either.)
