It's not how long you mix it, but how well. I usually mix a 3 oz. batch for only 30 seconds or so, never had one fail. The trick is to be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the container to get the stuff into the middle, then stir the middle to mix everything. 3 cycles of this result in a good mix.
I go for the minimal times because I like to work with fast-cure hardener on hot summer days. It makes the structural assembly go very quickly. But for wetting out glass I always use slow, then the mixing speed doesn't matter.
