footbrace studs install

anybody out there have tricks/advice on getting studs glassed in for my footbraces? I didn't buy the clc kit for this, having procured the studs, bolts and washers a while ago through roto-loc. i have the rails drilled out and ready to mount - - just looking for a good way to place the studs on the hull to match the mounting holes on the rails. i'm thinking just tape or clamp the rail temporarily in place while the epoxy and glass around the studs sets? Any other ideas that might work better?
