Deck edge wrapover

As I mentioned yesterday, the deck glassing went well, but I was not too happy with the 1.5" of glass that wraped over the sheer and on to the hull. I have 2 coats on the deck today. What's the best way of making the edge of the glass laying on the hull disappear?...should I sand it down before the next coat or just lay on the epoxy and work it out with the big end sanding? I've heard others' mention "feathering"...I guess I'm looking for some guidance in this area.

P.S. Thanks for your tips, Lee G....I'll try your technique on the next deck.
