I too had a strong 1/4" gap along the top edge on my first boat, no problem filling with thickened schmmoots.

On my second boat, moving faster and knowing it all, somehow ended up with the aft bulkhead better than an inch forward of spec. This unfortunately pulled the aft deck forward to overlap the bulkhead which then didn't cover the end of the boat! A small bit of bow cut-off glued in place took care of it.

Soooo, be carefull moving the bulkheads without looking ahead to what else may be effected.
