Mike, when building your SOF boats do you mortise the ribs into the gunwales? This seems as if it would lead to the strongest type joint even if not true to indeginous building styles. Does the type of cloth employed dictate the type of resin finish? Also, have you use commercially avialble, two part urethanes? They have great physical and optical properties relative to linear polyurethanes and/or varnish. If possible, would you reccomend a good location to purchase SOF plans.
I'm impressed with your balance as shown it the attached photo but have one question. We're you able to lower yourself down back into the cockpit without taking a swim? Happy paddling, Louie S.
