personally I'd use barely thickened epoxy applied with a syringe and not use fillet goop to join a multichine hull except where fillets are required. As you mention the panel joint is so tight that only a liquid epoxy will fill the joints. Save the thickened fillet goop for gap filling and fillets. "tabbing" looks like too much work and an opportunity to stain the wood where you don't want it stained. Once it cures and the wires are removed the cloth holds it all together.
