Aah, the MC 16.5 doesn't need or want a rudder, either solo or dual. Not with two paddlers who know what they are doing after some experimentation nor with a single paddler in the right position. Not in the flat water it's designed for. But you want to build and paddle the craft don't you? And keep peace in the family? So put the steenkin rudder on. Doesn't matter what kind since you won't use it (unless you start sailing). Take it off later when you want to clean up the lines. Dave
