Re: plans for a Pram

You can build an Eastport Pram from plans; many have. You need a router with a rabbeting bit to pull off the LapStitch joint but this is surmountable. WoodenBoat Magazine had an article about the specifics of our patent a year or two ago; I forget the exact date but if you plug "LapStitch" into their directory search you'll find the issue number.

There ARE a lot of parts but full-sized patterns for many of them in the plans. If you use the equivalent quality materials as in the kit and pay yourself, say $5/hour for the labor of getting out the parts, the kit's cheaper.

Soon there'll be a plans-only option for the Passagemaker, as well.
