shearwa. blding sequence?

The Shearwater manual instructs you to glass the hull prior to stripping the dec if I am not mistaken. Can this sequence be changed to filet hull, strip deck and then get into the glass work? I am thinking of staining the hull but need time to experiment with scraps of okume left over from previous project...
