Darryl,

If the fiberglass cloth is cut 2" or so larger than your hull or deck, and you swipe your squeegee away from the hull or deck edges at the end of each pass, I don't see how the threads would get back into your work.

Once the epoxy gels, or gets to the "green" stage, before it gets really hard, your can trim off the ragged jagged edges with a clean, sharp razor blade (like the ones from a window scraper).
