Howdy, Mac. I like Howard's answer, but if for some reason that don't work for you, heating and removing epoxy is so easy it's scary. I stripped all of the deck glass off of my boat with a heat gun, you don't need to get the epoxy as hot as I believe you are expecting. I can't even see any reason to sand off the cloth (or tape), just use a small thin putty knife, warm up the area a little, and I bet you will be able to peel that cloth off of there easier than pulling off painters tape.... just had to post a pic to scare some of ya'll, but don't worry, the boat survived and will be better than ever!
