I've been very happy with these 3mm tandems.
They have handled rough water well enough but I admit I haven't run into any submerged rocks yet. Pre-glassing the inside before stitching helps keep the epoxy from puddling and the strips for shear clamps were as light as possible in that area. Making a different combing will save a couple of pounds over the stacked plywood too. We placed strips under the deck for additional support as needed instead of adding a deck beam.
