MC16 Varnish 3 qts or 1G

Hi,

I'm nearing the varnish stage on my MC16. I plan to get ZSpar Captain's varnish. I see in the FAQ's that I will probably need about 3 quarts. The price of a gallon is about the same as 3 quarts. Should I go ahead and get the gallon knowing there is repair work in the future. Also if I'm going to use a little penetrol with it, will that matter? I was thinking that it might not store as well with the penetrol mixed into the gallon.
