I thought the point of rare earth magnets was that they don't interfere with magnetic compasses due to not being ferrous. Am I wrong in this belief?
As for the other options, as has been said, it's really a preference thing. I personally like the "spin tabs" for lack of a better way of describing them, such as are on the Arctic Hawk. When done properly they all work with more or less with the same quality and watertight sealing capability.
