i found spring that some spring clamps that i had had the reach to get the hatch covers compressed up into the deck towards the sheer clamps.

i used some small c clamps where i had the hatch opening and a spring clamp angled towards the corner to get the rest of the stiffener in place.

remember to roughen up the bottom of the deck with some 100 grit sandpaper to ensure you have a good bonding surface.

after you are done, i recommend that you take a finger-full of thickened epoxy (toothpaste consistency) and create a little filet between the hatch stiffner and the bottom of the deck. this will fill in any little gaps between the stiffner and the deck...to prevent any place that could capture and hold water.
