CLC's response to "ghostship" brought back some sour memories about a statement I made about ballast. My wife and I were about to depart for an afternoon paddle when I remarked that she didn't have as much trouble with stability in her Redfish King as I did. Then, I made the stupid mistake of saying it must be that your "ballast" is lower than mine. Well, I don't know much about cold storage of kayaks in winter, and apparently not much about frost and cold shoulders in the early fall either. So, be careful when mentioning ballast and be clear on its placement. It does not belong on one's shoulders.
