Re: primer

Well I put on the first coat of interlux's precoat and waited the alotted 16 hrs. Istarted to sand and the 120 gr. paper gummed up in no time. I tried other types of material with the same result.

I asked a pro painter about it and he said oil paint takes a good seven days to cure and to give it some time. I had applied it friday night and sanded with an R.O.S.. I imagine that if I ever get this first coat sanded down I may not venture a second coat of primer. Would this be a disaster? I've also picked up some penetrol to use in the top coat. Would using this in the primer help speed up the drying time?

Thanks for the previous input, Rod
