Some tricks include dusting off the horizontal planes of the garage (and other) doors - and not opening them unnecessarily.
I find really wetting-down the garage floor after vacuuming helps. It's amazing how much dust the ol' Varnishing Soft Shoe kicks up.
As for the rest - just be glad the dust isn't bugs and pollen. Once your varnish has cured, the microscopic bits that you can feel more than see will kinda snap off.
I haven't tried a plastic tent - never had the room. Don't know if that doesn't come with its own set of problems, and will leave for others to comment ie: EXPERTS!!!!!!!
