Hi Mark,

I don't know about balsa sealents, but I'm not sure if balsa is the right wood for that application. It's very light and has excellent compressive strength, but it's really not very good in torsion, flexure and tension (springiness) compared to other light woods.

I don't know what exactly you want to do with it, but my guess is that a good grade of spruce would probably work better in a flexing/bending application.
