Proven technique

I have stored 17 kayaks over winter in the Himalayas for the past 44 years, with no deleterious effects, and presented papers at universities around the world on the subject of outdoor cold storage of kayaks.

Here's what you do.

Fill your kayak to the gunnels with concrete. When it hardens, hit the hull hard with a sledge hammer in several places. (The cracks will drain off any water that builds up during freeze/thaw cycles.)

And hey, next time don't be a stranger, Prez--we missed you! If you suddenly think of another fault that everyone on this forum has, and need our technical help again, we are always here for you.

(Just havin' fun with you dude. We really don't get offended here :-)
