Re: Kayak wear protection

I applied the Devcon putty on the weekend. Ended up to be quite a simple task.

Firstly I sanded a 1/2" wide strip at the bow and stern. I just removed the paint and roughed the epoxy surface.

Then taped off the areas, mixed and applied the putty. I used a piece of icecream container lid as a flexible spreader. As soon as I was finished working the putty the tape was removed.

After about 30 minutes, the putty had started to set, and I simply feathered the edge with my finger.

I believe it will last quite well, but even if it doesn't, it's a quick, simple and clean task to reapply(ie no epoxy running down the sides, etc)and quite light, as you only apply it where it is needed
