"Light and fast is a good way to travel." Yes it is, but it isn't the only way.

I can fry in my iron dutch oven so do not need the iron frying pan, except when the menue calls for fresh baked bread or yeast rolls and something fried in the same meal. BTW, aluminum dutch ovens are not worth much. They heat and cool way too quickly. IMHO nothing cooks as well as well seasoned cast iron.

I have conceded to packability by switching to a soft-sided cooler for keeping the wine cool, the salad crisp, and having a chunk of ice in the single malt at the end of the day.

Otherwise I pack pretty light and always cut an inch or two off of my toothbrush handle thereby saving a significant amount of weight.
