Yes Jim, you're right on the target. That is the technique. But this means that the fibergalss tape will not get bonded to a continuous "green" fillet, only the short infill fillet sections where you've removed the wires.

I assume, since its been done, that this creates a sufficient bond. But its then confusing when other builders reference the importance of getting the tape to bond to green fillets.

I guess the rest of my inquiry was toward the standard approach of leaving the wires in place. The instruction manual indicates using a 2" radius scarper to tool the fillet. This tool, in my experience, ran into the wires.

Any one else have similar experience ?
