Bulkheads will make a kayak stronger, but not having them will not make it flimsy. Especially in the Ch14. Having said that, it is wise to restrain yourself from dancing upon the decks of boats without bulkheads. But then, it isn't the smartest thing in the world to do with one that has 'em.
