It is best if the inside face of the radiused deck touches the gluing surface continuously all the way to the exterior face of the side panel. I plane until the template touches the inside top corner of the plywood side panel, which means the outside top corner of the panel is removed. If the shear clamp and side panel is not formed into one smooth curve more thickened epoxy will be required to attached the deck and will show if you soften (round off) the corner along the shear (and will not show with rub rails).
