Re: Paint Weight Etc.

i can't speak to the set up and clean up time for spraying....but i know when i roll and tip...i am done in slightly under an hour from can open to can close. i use disposable foam brushes for tipping so there is no clean up...

fwiw, i am very pleased with the roll and tip results with the brightsides one part poly.

as for weight...i don't think there is any difference in weight between varnish and painting. as J said, above, almost all of the primer is sanded off. but i bet you will use as many as 4 to 6 coats of paint to get a uniform opaque finish. when i have rolled and tip'd, i am using very thin layers....after the 3rd or 4th layer...i will wet sand with 400 grit between the remaining coats to knock off any bumps or ripples that i may have accidently put on.

you definitely do not want to roll on a thick layer of paint...it will not give you a good finish.
