As Lee G and the others said, most of the wear will be at the keel ends and areas of the bottom other than the keel.
For less weight and effort, you may wish to install brass rub strips on the ends of the keel. I have them on all my boats and they really hold up in the hard granite of Maine and Canada. I can e-mail you directions for obtaining and installing these strips if you like.
