On the CLC video they advocate turning the boat over right after you have the sheer clamp-to-deck joint glued up and nailed--that way any stray epoxy runs down into any gaps or voids that the nails and/or straps didn't get a solid connection on. That way there will be no drips on the outside OR inside. Good luck.
