I wouldn't expect to to be a big problem for the kayak, but your seat will likely start to smell pretty funky if it stays damp all the time. I carved one of the seats out of minicell and put a huge trough in the bottom of it as a tunnel for water to flow out. Other options are removable seats, though that may be more difficult now.
