Alvino,

When deciding between a 17LT and a 16, shoe size will play a larger role. If you go through CLC's Site Map, you'll find a comparison chart with shoe size as well as paddler weight and Max weight. Being 10lbs over paddler weight should not be an issue if your feet fit, and you're only carrying a day's worth of cargo.
