stripper deck questions

Tool the Pax 20 out yesterday and got to thinking of modifying it. Has anybody ever built a strip deck over the original deck and then torn off the old deck and installed the stripper? I'm gonna havta take the old deck off anyway. I want to take that spreader board out of the bow, strip out all the excess epoxy I left, and take out the skeg and put and under the edge rudder in its place. The new rudder will probably use a tiller and footplate. This should (theoretically) reduce its turning radius by about a week. Got to run and watch the Bucs drag defeat out of the jaws of victory again. Thanks Craig
