Having the deck beam one inch forward is no big deal. Just let the deck oiver hang the coaming. But do not move the cockpit forward. You do not want to lose an inch of clearance between your back and the rear caoming. You definately do not want to move the seat forward an inch. Moving weight forward will increase weathercocking (in a crosswind the kayak will turn into the wind).

You could make the coaming an inch longer I have long legs and had to strech my coaming for butt-first entries.
