Trial voyage

Put the Ch. 18 in the water for the first time today. It isn't quite finished, hull needs varnish, but I still got compliments from plastic boaters putting in at the same time. Plugged CLC and Redfish, since I had my King along with my wife behind the paddle. The Ch.18 is quite a bit more stable in initial stability (about 2 in. wider)than the King. The Ch. 18 handles well. It was quite windy with a good chop and it tracked straight and true with minor corrections. I am very pleased, especially since I got the kit 8/12/05 and got it in the water 9/5/05. Much faster than the cedar strip and just as much fun. Pictures will be posted at a later date.
