plywood question
Posted by Dave S on Aug 27, 2005
Has anybody used Ultraply Hardwood Plywood for maring application yet? 4 ply, 5.5 mm guaranteed no voids and assembled with marine phenolic resin.
I've used it to make patterns for the S&G Mill Creek 13 from CLC and the stuff is nice. Since the boat will be sheathed with epoxy / glass fabric on the outside, epoxy on the inside I can't come up with a good reason not to use it for the actual boat.
Cuts nicely, plannes easily, and I have already cut scarfs in it to assemble the pattern panels. I've found no voids either in the cuts or the scarfs.
Thanks in advance
Dave
