Re: Expanding end-pours

The amounts and methods of putting goop into the ends has varied with sheerclamps that run to the ends requiring a tapering cut where the endpour has no relation to bonding the deck to the hull to the present instruction where the sheerclamps are foreshortened enough to require overly large end-pours. If a person uses the goop made during filleting there really isn't any need to pour quantities of goop into a big hole. I think in some old instruction is said to pour 8oz in either end,,it now says 6oz. If you stuck with the sheerclamps to the ends with a triangular block of wood you could reduce the weight of the kayak 6-12oz without any change in function.
