Hatch Opening Size
Posted by Tom Irvine on Aug 23, 2005
Has anyone tried making their front hatch opening bigger?
I do a lot of multi-week tripping in the Great Lakes in my LT17 (Just got back from an awesome 18 days on Superior!!), and I'm thinking of making the front hatch opening large enough to admit one of those bear-proof food canisters (about 8.5" x 12.5").
Assuming I make a good, strong hatch cover, am I risking any structural strength by making the hole bigger?
