Small bulge between seams
Posted by Andrew King on Aug 19, 2005
Hi all. I am sanding the hull of my WR164 getting it ready to glass. However, I can now see that there is a small but noticeable bulge in one of the panels at the curve of the bow. The curve of the seams is fair on either side, but the panel seems to bulge out between the seams so that the hull is asymmetric. Do I need to fix this, or should I just go on?
I thought I could just sand it down, but I think I would eat quite deep into the wood of the panel. Would this be bad, or would the subsequent layers of glass (inside and out) provide enough strength?
Thanks for any help. I will try to post a picture later so you can see what I am talking about.
Cheers,
AK
